With its rich maltiness, this beer is able to be paired with almost any meal. The beer has a thick wheat backbone without being a wheat beer. This beer was traditionally brewed by the women on the farm with any ingredients they had available at the time. This usually caused the beer to be about 50% barley and 50% wheat. The modern version is now set to be a 60% Barley to 40% wheat ratio. Our version has a rich maltiness due to the Munich malt and wheat malt. We use French Strisselspalt in our recipe to keep it traditional.
